Heart of Midlothian FC vs Kilmarnock FC, Edinburgh — 2 Jan 2027

Edinburgh Waverley station is the primary mainline hub, located approximately 1.8 miles (2.9 km) north-east of Tynecastle Stadium. The walk from Waverley is a significant 35-40 minutes south-west, generally proceeding via Princes Street and Gorgie Road. For direct arrival, alternative transport is recommended.

• Bus & Public Transit: Tynecastle is well-served by Lothian Buses. Key routes stopping on Gorgie Road or McLeod Street, adjacent to the stadium, include services 1, 2, 3, 4, 21, 25, 33, 34, and 38. These routes offer connections from Edinburgh city centre and surrounding areas.
• Parking: Parking immediately adjacent to Tynecastle Stadium is severely restricted, particularly on event days. Limited metered street parking exists on peripheral streets but is often full and subject to local restrictions. For planned events, consider booking in advance at city centre car parks such as NCP Edinburgh Castle Terrace (EH1 2ER), then utilising public transport or a 30-minute walk to the venue. Alternatively, Fountain Park Leisure Park (EH11 1AF) offers paid parking, approximately a 15-20 minute walk east of the stadium.
• Entry & Doors: Entry is typically through designated turnstiles surrounding the stadium bowl, identified by ticket type or stand access. Queue arrangements are managed on the pavement immediately outside the gates. Expect thorough bag searches and security checks; only small bags are generally permitted, and strict policies on prohibited items are enforced. Early arrival, at least 45-60 minutes before scheduled start times, is recommended to navigate security and locate seats/standing areas without rush.
