Cheltenham Racecourse

Cheltenham Spa railway station (GL51 8NP) is the nearest mainline connection. From the station, the racecourse is approximately a 35-minute walk (2.9 km) east, following Gloucester Road, turning right onto Tommy Taylors Lane, then continuing onto Prestbury Road towards the main entrance.

Regular Stagecoach services operate from Cheltenham town centre. The Stagecoach 606 route provides connections towards Prestbury, with stops within a 10-minute walk of the racecourse gates. On major event days, dedicated shuttle bus services often operate from Cheltenham Spa station and various points within the town, with details published closer to specific events.

Extensive on-site parking is available at Cheltenham Racecourse, including the North Car Park and Red Gate Car Park, accessible from Prestbury Road or New Barn Lane. Parking fees apply, and advance booking for major events is highly recommended due to significant congestion on approach roads and limited capacity if not pre-booked.

Specific entry gates (e.g., North Gate, main Centaur entrance) vary by event; precise details are usually communicated with tickets. Queue arrangements are typically structured within the expansive grounds, allowing for organised flow. A mandatory bag search policy is in effect for all attendees, and bag size restrictions may apply. Arriving 45-60 minutes before scheduled event start times is advisable, particularly for large-scale events, to allow for security procedures and venue navigation.
