Don Haskins Center

The El Paso Streetcar offers the most direct light rail access. The "University" or "Sun Bowl" stops on Mesa Street are the closest, requiring an approximately 12-minute walk uphill across the UTEP campus to reach the Don Haskins Center. For longer distance rail, the El Paso Union Depot (Amtrak) is located approximately 3.5 miles southeast, necessitating a taxi or Sun Metro bus connection.

Sun Metro bus services provide several routes connecting to the UTEP area. Key routes, including 14, 15, 18, and 206, operate along Mesa Street and Sun Bowl Drive, with stops conveniently located within a 5-10 minute walk of the venue. Consult Sun Metro schedules for precise route timings and connections.

Several UTEP-managed parking facilities are available within close proximity. The Sun Bowl Parking Garage is directly adjacent to the center, offering the most convenient access. Other options include the Schuster Garage, located east, and the Glory Road Parking Garage, situated south of the venue. Parking fees typically apply, and pre-booking permits online through the UTEP Parking and Transportation Services website is strongly advised for major events to mitigate congestion and ensure availability.

Multiple entry points are typically utilized around the perimeter of the Don Haskins Center to manage crowd flow. Attendees should check their specific ticket for recommended gate numbers. Security screening, including bag checks, is standard procedure. Large bags are often prohibited. Arriving 45-60 minutes before the scheduled start time is recommended to allow ample time for entry, security checks, and finding your seating or standing area, particularly for sold-out events.
