Estádio Dom Afonso Henriques

The nearest mainline station is Guimarães train station, located at Largo da Estação, 4800-141 Guimarães. From the station, the Estádio Dom Afonso Henriques is approximately a 1.5-kilometre walk. Exit the station, proceed north-east on Rua da Estação, then turn left onto Avenida D. Afonso Henriques, continuing straight for roughly 18 minutes until the stadium appears on your right.

Local bus services in Guimarães, operated by Arriva and TUG (Transportes Urbanos de Guimarães), serve routes with stops relatively close to the stadium. Key routes that pass nearby include those heading towards the northern and eastern parts of the city. Specific bus stops like 'Bairro da Misericórdia' or 'Tribunal' are within a 10-minute walk, connecting to various points within Guimarães.

For those arriving by car, several parking options are available within a 10-minute radius. The "Parque de Estacionamento do Guimarães Shopping" (Rua de São Tomé) is often a viable choice, though fees apply, and it can experience significant congestion on event days. Limited street parking may be found further afield, but it is generally advisable to utilise dedicated parking facilities or consider public transport due to high demand and restricted access immediately surrounding the stadium during events. Advance booking for larger car parks, if available, is recommended.

Entrances are located at various gates around the stadium perimeter, clearly indicated on tickets. Patrons should consult their ticket for the specific gate number (Porta) and section (Sector) to ensure the quickest entry. Security checks, including bag searches and potentially metal detector screening, are standard. Large bags and outside food/drink are typically prohibited. Arriving 60-90 minutes before a major event is advised to allow ample time for security procedures and finding your seating or standing area before the main performance commences.
