Goodwood Racecourse

The nearest mainline station is Chichester Station (operated by Southern Rail), located approximately 5 miles south of the Racecourse. Goodwood Racecourse is not within walking distance of the station. During major race meetings and public events, dedicated shuttle buses typically operate from Chichester Station directly to the Racecourse. Taxis are also available from the station forecourt.

• Bus & Public Transit: Goodwood Racecourse is not directly served by regular public bus routes due to its rural, uphill location. For events, attendees should rely on the specific event shuttle bus services, which usually depart from Chichester Station and provide direct transport to the venue. Check event-specific travel information for exact routes and timetables.
• Parking: Extensive on-site parking is available across various designated car parks (e.g., Car Park 8 for general admission). Fees apply, and for major events, it is highly recommended to book parking in advance via the Goodwood website to secure a space and potentially reduce costs. Expect significant traffic congestion on approach roads and within the venue grounds on busy event days.
• Entry & Doors: Entry points vary depending on the ticketed enclosure (e.g., Richmond, Gordon, or General Admission). Signage directs attendees to the correct gate. Standard security protocols, including bag checks, are in operation at all entry points. Gates typically open several hours before the first race or performance; arriving at least 90 minutes prior to the scheduled start time is advisable to allow for travel delays, parking, and security checks.
