Kenan Stadium

Chapel Hill does not possess a direct mainline rail station. The nearest Amtrak stops are Durham Station (approximately a 25-minute drive northeast) and Cary Station (approximately a 30-minute drive southeast). Travelers arriving by rail would need to utilize local bus services (e.g., GoTriangle) or ride-share options for onward travel to the stadium, adding significant transit time.

The stadium is well-served by Chapel Hill Transit, the local public bus system. Key routes such as the "U" and "RU" buses provide direct access to the UNC campus. The most convenient stops for the stadium are "South Rd at Stadium Dr" and various stops along South Road, which are within a 2 to 5-minute walk of the venue's entrance gates. GoTriangle buses also connect Chapel Hill with surrounding areas like Durham and Raleigh.

On-campus parking is available but is highly restricted and often pre-booked for game days. Named parking decks within a 10-minute walk include the Rams Head Deck, Bell Tower Deck, and Craige Deck. Fees are significant, especially during major events, and congestion is high. Advance booking, often via the UNC Athletics website, is strongly recommended or even mandatory for event parking. Off-campus parking in downtown Chapel Hill garages may also be an option, followed by a longer walk or local transit.

Entry to Kenan Stadium is facilitated through multiple numbered gates located around its perimeter, for example, Gate 2 on Stadium Drive or Gate 5 on South Road. Queue arrangements are typically managed by staff, and patrons should anticipate standard stadium security protocols, including bag checks (often adhering to a clear bag policy) and metal detectors. To ensure timely entry and avoid missing the start of events, arriving at least 60 to 90 minutes before scheduled kick-off or start time is advisable.
