Lulworth Castle

The nearest mainline railway station is Wool (Dorset), situated approximately 4.5 miles north-east of Lulworth Castle. This station is served by South Western Railway, providing direct connections to London Waterloo. From Wool Station, a taxi service or local bus connection (detailed below) is necessary for onward travel, as walking is not a viable option due to distance and lack of pedestrian infrastructure. The journey by taxi typically takes between 10-15 minutes, subject to local traffic.

Local bus services connect Wool Station and the surrounding area to Lulworth Castle. The Jurassic Coaster X50/X51 route, operated by First Bus, provides connections along the Dorset coast. The closest bus stop to the castle is "Lulworth Castle Entrance," though services are infrequent, especially outside of peak tourist season. Visitors should consult up-to-date timetables in advance.

On-site parking is available within the Lulworth Estate grounds. Dedicated car parks are signposted upon arrival. For standard castle visits and smaller events, parking fees are typically applicable and paid upon entry. For larger festivals or significant scheduled performances, advance parking passes are often required and are highly recommended due to high demand and potential congestion, particularly during peak event times.

The primary entrance for events within Lulworth Castle is via its main façade. Queue arrangements vary significantly with event scale; for intimate indoor events, queues are generally minimal and managed directly at the castle doors. For larger events, security checks, including bag searches, are standard procedure upon entry. Patrons are advised to arrive at least 30-45 minutes before the scheduled start time to allow for entry procedures and to locate their preferred viewing position.
