Edgbaston Stadium

Birmingham New Street Station, the city's main railway hub, is approximately 3 miles north-east of Edgbaston Stadium. This constitutes a significant walk of around 45-50 minutes south down Pershore Road (A441). For this reason, connecting bus services or a short taxi ride are highly recommended for the final leg of the journey from the station.

Several bus routes provide direct access from Birmingham city centre. Services 45 and 47 frequently run along Pershore Road, stopping at 'Edgbaston Cricket Ground' which is a convenient 5-minute walk from the stadium's main entrance. Additional routes, including 1A, X64, 41, 48, 55, 61, 63, 80, 80A, X21, and X22, also operate stops within a 10-15 minute walking radius of the venue.

Official stadium car parks are typically available but almost always require advance pre-booking for major events due to high demand. Expect significant traffic congestion around the area on event days. Satellite car parks at locations such as Moseley Ashfield Cricket Club or Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park are occasionally provided with shuttle services; consult specific event information for availability. Alternatively, numerous multi-storey car parks are available in Birmingham city centre (e.g., Grand Central, Bullring), from which public transport connections can be made to the stadium.

Entry gates are clearly marked around the stadium perimeter, with specific gates often allocated based on ticket type. External queueing systems are managed on the dedicated plaza areas and pavements leading to the turnstiles. Comprehensive bag searches and security checks are standard procedure for all events. For large-scale performances, arriving 60-90 minutes prior to the advertised start time is advisable to allow ample time for security procedures and to navigate to your designated seating or standing area.
