How do I get to Helsinki Olympic Stadium, Helsinki?
Helsinki Olympic Stadium is at Paavo Nurmen tie, Helsinki, 00251. Open in Google Maps
By train and tube
The nearest major railway interchange is Pasila station, located approximately a 15-minute walk west from the stadium via Nordenskiöldinkatu, then south along Jäähallintie and Paavo Nurmen tie. Alternatively, Helsinki Central Station (Rautatientori) is accessible via a longer 30-minute walk north along Mannerheimintie, though this route is generally better served by tram connections.
By bus
The stadium benefits from excellent public transport links, particularly through Helsinki's tram network. Tram lines 4 and 10 have stops along Mannerheimintie and Nordenskiöldinkatu, directly adjacent to the venue. Additionally, numerous bus routes stop at "Olympiastadion" or "Töölön kisahalli" stops, providing connections from various districts across the city.
By car and parking
Limited paid parking is available at Valon Parkki, an underground facility situated beneath the adjacent Bolt Arena, roughly a 5-minute walk from the stadium. Street parking in the surrounding Töölö district is sparse, regulated, and often subject to high fees. For event nights, advance booking for Valon Parkki is strongly recommended, or patrons are advised to utilize public transport to circumvent congestion and parking difficulties.
Entry and security
Specific entry gates are clearly indicated on event tickets. General entrance points are located on the east and west sides of the stadium perimeter. Queues for security checks and ticket scanning can be substantial, especially for high-capacity events. Attendees should plan to arrive at least 60-90 minutes prior to the scheduled start time to allow ample time for security procedures and to comfortably locate their designated seating or standing area. Strict bag policies are typically enforced, restricting larger backpacks and bags.
